MAXIMAZING FUNCTIONALITY
Fitting a Full Apartment—Kitchen, Living Room, Bedroom, and Bathroom—Into 30m² (300 sq ft) Without the Clutter
This 30m² (300 sq ft) studio is located in Seoul. Officetels or 강남 are popular in Korea, especially among students and young professionals. My client, a Korean entrepreneur, wanted to transform this space (300 sq ft) into a functional and modern rental for students or professionals.
Designing for a small studio like this can be tricky. The challenge is balancing the need for functionality with the risk of overcrowding.
I focused on creating a minimalist, efficient space with multifunctional furniture, built-in shelves, and smart storage solutions. The goal was to ensure the studio felt spacious, bright, and welcoming without compromising on practicality.
Ultimately, I aimed to create an environment that would appeal to both students needing a quiet study area and professionals looking for a convenient, stylish place to live or work.
The result is a versatile studio that feels larger than its size, perfect for anyone looking to make the most of a small space in one of Seoul's busiest districts.
